Silent Hill Remake Coming 2027, First Cast Details Leaked

With Silent Hill 2’s remake selling 6 million copies, it’s no surprise Bloober Team and Konami would want to have another crack at things. Last year, the Polish developer and Japanese publisher confirmed they were doing just that with a remake of the first Silent Hill.

The 1999 PS1 horror game is getting the Bloober treatment, and a new leak from MP1ST suggests work has been underway since 2022 and the game is targeting a 2027 launch.

According to the report, the game cast its actors under the codename “Project Noise,” and features Gabrielle Fritz and Jade Matthew in major roles.

The Best Silent Hill Games

Fritz has worked in other games, from Battlefield 2042 to Wolfenstein 2: The New Colossus, as well as a range of TV shows. Matthew is best known for British TV appearances.

While it isn’t clear what roles the two actors play in Silent Hill’s remake, the report speculated that police officer Cybil Bennett, nurse Lisa Garland, or primary antagonist Dahlia Gillespie would fit. There’s no word on who could play protagonist Harry Mason yet.

Bloober Team is also working on DLC for Cronos: The New Dawn, its multiplayer horror game, Saw: Genesis, and story-driven adventure Star Trek: Shadow Frontier.

The 2027 release window lines up with Konami’s recent spate of Silent Hill projects, with Townfall launching this year and Silent Hill f in 2025, giving us a new Silent Hill project each year. You can check out the games in order in our Silent Hill timeline.

Konami is planning "second and third waves" of new Silent Hill games, according to producer Motoi Okamoto, who pointed at Silent Hill 2 Remake, Silent Hill f, and Silent Hill: Townfall as the first wave.

That would make a remake of the first game the beginning of the second wave of new Silent Hill projects. It’ll be interesting to see what comes after.
