See How Battlefield 6’s Highly Requested New Feature Works
Battlefield 6 is just a week away from its second phase of content for Season 5, and Battlefield Studios reveals the game's highly requested server browser feature will arrive after the big seasonal update rolls out. The studio highlights how the feature will work, and here's everything you need to know before Battlefield 6's server browsers go live.
Players have wanted a proper server browser since launch, and the feature was originally announced for December, but Battlefield Studios says it's arriving earlier to focus on stability before the holidays.
The server browser feature will rollout across two separate phases. Shortly after the Season 5 content drops on November 10, a limited group of players will receive access to the server browser as a stress test for the servers. Once the studio's data shows the feature is stable, the server browser will fully roll out for all players worldwide.

"We are aiming to progress through these stages over the course of a couple weeks," Battlefield Studio says. "The timeline for this rollout remains dependent on live testing results and any fixes required along the way. We will keep you updated on progress as we evaluate data and prepare for global availability."
Once live, the server browser feature will be front and center on the Battlefield 6 menus. There will be a server browser option located within the Quickplay row. Selecting it takes players straight to the game's new official tab, instantly displaying active servers without any extra navigation. Additional server browser tiles will also be available across other sections of the menu, including Portal.

"Bringing the server browser back to Battlefield is all about giving you direct control over how, where, when, and with whom you play," the developer says.
Here is everything confirmed for the server browser on day one:
- Direct Access to Official Servers: Browse and join both Official Battlefield Studios servers and Official Player-hosted servers in one unified place
- Shared Server Pool: Quickplay, Multiplayer, Custom Search, and the Server Browser all feed into the same official server pool. Matchmaking actively helps keep browser-listed servers populated
- Granular Filtering & Sorting: Filter by Map or Mode type, or sort server listings by Ping, Player Count, Server Name, or Recommended
- Full Progression & Mastery: Every server in the Official tab awards full XP, weapon mastery, and challenge progression, matching standard matchmaking
- Persistent Lobbies: Stay on the same server across consecutive rounds with your squad rather than going back to the main menu after every match
Official player-hosted servers run on a dedicated server, meaning the host does not need to stay in the match for the server to remain online. These servers remain visible in the browser even when empty, and once at least one player joins, it will seed the match and route players in. Additionally, a server can remain active for up to seven consecutive days without any players before being delisted.
The developer says it will have further details on exact rollout timing and a full guide on how to use the server browser coming soon.
