Phantom Blade Zero Put Up Some Massive Sales Numbers
Developer S-Game's action-RPG Phantom Blade Zero launched on October 29 and had a massive start across PC and PS5.
The game sold more than 4 million copies over its first 72 hours. That works out to 926 units sold per minute or about 15.4 per second over the first three days.
"Thank you everyone from the bottom of our hearts for all the love and support," the studio said in a social media post.
The 4 million figure counts copies sold across both PC and PS5--the game is not available on Xbox. The game reached a record of 833,921 peak concurrent users on Steam on November 1.
The game's developer is based in China, and the majority of preorders for the game came from China, Taiwan, and Hong Kong.
Phantom Blade Zero's sales out of the gate are strong, but do not come close to another hit game from the Chinese game developer scene, Black Myth: Wukong. That game sold 10 million copies over its first three days. The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, meanwhile, sold 10 million copies in three days as well.

“S-Game’s Wuxia-inspired combat puts you in the middle of a Chinese action movie,” Richard Wakeling wrote in GameSpot’s Phantom Blade Zero review.
