Michael Che Sets Third Netflix Special ‘Shot in Minnesota’ (EXCLUSIVE)

Michael Che is coming back to Netflix with another stand-up special.

“Shot in Minnesota,” his third hour for the streamer, will premiere on Oct. 13.

Che directed the special, which was taped at First Avenue in Minneapolis. He executive produces with Matthew Vaughan for Rotten Science.

“Shot in Minnesota” comes just a couple weeks after the Season 52 premiere of “Saturday Night Live,” where Che returned behind the “Weekend Update” desk for his 13th consecutive year with Colin Jost. In a clip of his new special, Che jokes about his longtime “SNL” compatriot and his movie star wife.

“You know what really bothers me about Colin being married to Scarlett Johansson? It’s that he acts like it’s normal. Isn’t that fucking annoying? He acts like it’s not a miracle,” Che says. “Sometimes he’ll call me and be like, ‘Hey man, we’re having dinner at the house … we could do a double date thing.’ I’m like, ‘I can’t bring the women that I date to Scarlett Johansson’s house.’ I don’t need her calling my phone like, ‘Hey, I think your date stole our silverware.’ … I thought I heard her jingling in the Uber.”

“Shot in Minnesota” follows Che’s previous two specials for Netflix, 2016’s “Michael Che Matters” and 2021’s “Michael Che: Shame the Devil.”

While Che is best known for his work on “SNL,” he also created his own sketch comedy series, “That Damn Michael Che,” which aired for two seasons on HBO Max. Prior to “SNL,” he had a short-lived stint as a correspondent on “The Daily Show.”
