KPop Demon Hunters Is Getting Yet Another Immersive Gaming Experience in Early 2027

Immersive Gamebox is teaming up with Netflix to bring fans into the world of KPop Demon Hunters. A new interactive gaming experience based on the animated streaming hit will launch across select U.S. locations in January 2027.

According to a press release, the experience will have players “move, react, and work together through a series of interactive games featuring 3D motion tracking, projection mapping, touch-sensitive walls and spatial audio.” The experience avoids heavy VR goggles, instead using lightweight motion-tracking headsets.

Before getting into actual gameplay, players will get to create their own ‘Superfan’ avatar in the style of the animated movie. Then, HUNTR/X will guide participants on a quest to protect the Honmoon. The experience will feature familiar locations, moments, and characters from the movie while requiring participants to work together on minigames and activities.

The full KPop Demon Hunters experience is designed for two to six players with an estimated run time of 60 minutes. Tickets will be available in December, but fans can already sign up to join a Priority Waitlist that will offer 24 hours of early access before the general sale.

Immersive Gamebox launched in London before opening its first U.S. location in 2020. The company really hit its stride with licensed collaborations, having previously worked with Netflix on its Squid Game and Floor Is Lava experiences. It now hosts over 29 experiences at 35 venues.

“KPop Demon Hunters perfectly captures what we do best: transforming the world’s most exciting stories into shared experiences that friends and families can play together," said Lisa Paton, CEO of Immersive Gamebox. "Music, movement, and the collective energy of the fans are such a huge part of this film, and we can’t wait for fans to join the action and become part of the story.”

This isn’t fans’ only opportunity to help Huntr/x protect the Honmoon. Netflix will be hosting its own KPop Demon Hunters: The Immersive Experience at two Netflix House locations this November. The Netflix experience will make use of "3D technology" while also featuring live actors, multiple sets, and themed food and drinks.

Both immersive experiences will stick to the movie's original Honmoon story, though we'll be getting more action in the world of KPop Demon Hunters soon enough. Well, maybe not too soon. Reports suggest the sequel may not release until at least 2029. At the very least, Netflix has already agreed to correct its previous mistakes by giving KPop Demon Hunters 2 a full theatrical release.
