V for Vendetta: New Trailer Revealed for the 20th Anniversary Re-Release
Warner Bros. Motion Picture Group, Saga Arts, and Fathom Entertainment announced Friday that tickets are now on sale online and at participating box offices for the 20th Anniversary theatrical re-release of V for Vendetta, which will be in theaters nationwide on November 1 and 5, 2026.
The news was accompanied by a new trailer for the re-release, which can be viewed below. The trailer features an anniversary-inspired reimagining of Tchaikovsky’s 1812 Overture by Jonathan Snipes of the experimental hip-hop group clipping.
Based on the iconic DC Vertigo graphic novel written by Alan Moore and illustrated by David Lloyd, the 2004 film was directed by James McTeigue and produced by the Wachowskis.
The movie, like the graphic novel, is set in a futuristic totalitarian Britain where a young working class woman named Evey (Natalie Portman) encounters a masked freedom fighter known only as “V” (Hugo Weaving). Stephen Rea and John Hurt also star.
The 20th anniversary screenings will include Freedom Forever, an exclusive featurette where director McTeigue reflects on the making of the film and its relevance twenty years later.
“The award-winning V for Vendetta graphic novel led to one of the most provocative films in the early 2000s. Twenty years later, V for Vendetta still asks the questions that matter: about freedom, identity, and who gets to speak up. Fathom is thrilled to bring this great movie back to theatres, featuring an exclusive new conversation with director James McTeigue for a whole new generation of audiences,” said Shannah Miller, Vice President of Marketing at Fathom Entertainment in a statement.
V for Vendetta has found its way on many IGN lists in the years since it came out, including our picks for the 15 best R-rated superhero movies, the 25 best superhero movies, and the darkest superhero movies ever made.
