Tech stocks today: Oura files IPO paperwork, Nvidia's Huang pushes back on AI doomsday talk
Health tracking ring maker Oura on Monday publicly filed paperwork for its initial public offering. The company is looking to raise upwards of $2.2 billion via the sale of 50 million shares priced between $40 and $44.
The company's revenue in the nine months ending June 30 was $1.2 billion, up from $697 million in the same period last year. Oura saw a net loss of $924 million.
Oura says it sold 4.1 million Oura Rings in the nine months ending June 30, up from 1.8 million in the same period last year.
On the AI front, Nvidia (NVDA) CEO Jensen Huang pushed back against AI doomsday talk during an interview with CBS News on Sunday. The interview comes after Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei penned an essay calling for a slowdown in the development of frontier AI systems.
Huang called fears that AI will kill all humans "completely false," saying "it is not grounded on facts, it's not grounded on science."
But he also said that AI researchers' concerns about building safe products isn't wrong.
