Since the mid-’80s, Spike Lee has been making commercials for Nike and Michael Jordan‘s Air Jordan sneakers. In fact, one of the director’s most iconic characters, Mars Blackmon from “She’s Gotta Have It,” has appeared in many commercials for the sports apparel company. And since the mid-2000s, Jordan Brand has paid tribute to Spike Lee with his own pair of sneakers with the Jordan Spiz’ike.
The special sneakers are a blend of various elements from Air Jordan III, IV, V, VI, IX and XX with a wide range of colorways and limited-edition drops. For the 20th anniversary of the first pair and the 30th anniversary of the classic movie “Space Jam,” Nike has released the Jordan Spiz’ike Low “Jam Central” sneakers colorway for a new generation of fans.
Priced at $165 at Nike.com, the Nike Jordan Spiz’ike Low “Jam Central” sneakers are designed from premium materials, such as a mixture of authentic and synthetic leather upper with a fresh look and clean feel that has a retro appeal, but with a Spike Lee twist with the logo of director’s production company, 40 Acres and a Mule Filmworks, on the heel.
It also has Space Jam details, like Bugs Bunny in the Air Jordan “Jumpman” position, while the Jordan Spiz’ike Low “Jam Central” sneakers come in a black, green strike, racer blue and atomic orange colorway that’s great for casual use.
And if you’re a Nike Member, you can get free shipping on orders over $50 and higher. But if you’re not a member, then your order has to be more than $75 to get free shipping.
