Love Nikki Player Shuts Down Fan Website Over Game's 'Irreverent' and 'Demonic' Clothing Designs

A fan of the Love Nikki – Dress Up Queen mobile dress-up game is going viral for shutting down their informative website after determining that some of the game’s clothing designs were “demonic.”

Nikki’s Info was a fan-made website compiling many of Love Nikki’s clothes, accessories, story guides, update details, and other information. An X/Twitter account for the site was created in 2018, and players could subscribe to the administrator’s Patreon for exclusive game guides and other insights.

Those players are now being offered refunds after the site’s admin announced that they are quitting the game due to their religious beliefs, as described in a now-viral blog post.

The admin published the post after a week of inactivity on the Nikki’s Info website, which has been completely wiped of any information relating to the dress-up game. They explained their absence in the post, saying they had “done some horrible things involving the occult” and that the “devil had then gained such a foothold in my life [that] I was firmly in his grasp.”

“All of this started quite small and personal — but quickly escalated, where in the end I was in a situation where I was in a near-death situation involving police, paramedics, and other people, of whose kindness I am grateful for. I [was] on the precipice of a terrible situation — [I] called out to God for help. He answered. I then continued to practice the occult. Things got worse again and started affecting others, especially my suffering family, in a way I can’t declare publicly,” they wrote.

While the poster confirmed that they are now fine, they expressed some issues with the clothing designs in Love Nikki, finding them to be blasphemous with “demonic” undertones.

“The game features a lot of crosses as dress-up items, which are irreverent to God, the God who so kindly and patiently saved me. The God I love,” they continued. “There’s a lot of them, disproportionately so. Some are mixed in with gothic demonic themes. Such things, though they might seem small, carry consequences and meaning. This is not to say that playing the game directly led to what happened to me. I can say with some degree of certainty, it really was the terrible things I did. But in the ‘back story,’ the various games, books, works of fiction, movies, even music — they are there.

“I have wrestled with this, but ultimately I can’t profit from or promote something which offends my God, my Saviour — therefore the site is now closed. The source code, the data, the domain are not for sale.”

The admin’s post has gone viral within the broader Infinity Nikki community, sparking concerns from players and theories as to what clothing items specifically led them to this conclusion.

Some pointed out the oddness of the situation, given that a fair few designs within the Nikki franchise were directly inspired by figures within the Catholic religion. For example, Love Nikki includes an outfit set that’s essentially a Pope-like ensemble, while the official Infinity Nikki X account shared a graphic with specific details about how the team at Infold approached its Behind Prayers outfit set, saying the Starlight Crown headdress incorporated “imagery of the Virgin Mary.”

For now, commenters are doing their best to help the Nikki’s Info admin, though the situation has sparked no end of curiosity and debate within the world of dress-up games.
