Yami Gautam Dhar’s Amazon MGM Studios, Colour Yellow Film ‘Nayyi Navelli’ Unveils October Release Teaser (EXCLUSIVE)

Amazon MGM Studios and Colour Yellow have unveiled the teaser for “Nayyi Navelli,” a fantasy family entertainer starring Yami Gautam Dhar, ahead of its October theatrical release in India.

The teaser opens on what looks like an ordinary household before the brother-in-law levels an accusation at the family’s newest addition: “bhabhi daayan hai” (“sister-in-law is a witch”). From there, the footage moves through a string of odd characters and chaotic situations centered on Gautam Dhar in a role the studio describes as unlike anything she has played before.

Balaji Mohan directs from a script by Himanshu Sharma and Divy Nidhi Sharma, with music by G.V. Prakash Kumar. Aanand L Rai and Sharma produce through Colour Yellow. The ensemble cast includes Addinath M Kothare, Anurag Thakur, Sunita Rajwar, Mita Vashisth, Aaditya Kulshreshth, Susmita Mukherjee, Sonal Jha, Suneel Sinha, Prateek Pachori, Akshat Singh, Babita Pandey, Ajay Pal and Neeraj Singh.

“Nayyi Navelli” arrives in Indian cinemas on Oct. 16, timed to land just ahead of the Dussehra festival.

Colour Yellow, founded by Rai, has built its slate around original stories with strong character work, including “Raanjhanaa,” the “Tanu Weds Manu” franchise, “Tere Ishk Mein,” “Atrangi Re,” “Tumbbad” and “Tu Yaa Main.”

Yami Gautam Dhar’s most recent role was a cameo in blockbuster “Dhurandhar: The Revenge,” and she headlined “Haq” and “Article 370.”
