The ‘Terrifier’ Trilogy Is Returning to Theaters for a Halloween Run
Art the Clown is back for another round of big-screen terror.
The “Terrifier” trilogy is headed back to theaters, just in time for spooky season. 2016’s “Terrifier,” 2022’s “Terrifier 2″ and 2024’s “Terrifier 3″ will have showtimes at Regal theaters nationwide on Halloween weekend, from Oct. 29-31. The re-release is presented by the video game “Dead by Daylight” and Behaviour Interactive, with support from distributors Cineverse and Epic Pictures.
Ticketholders for any of the films will be entered into a drawing to win a download code for “Dead by Daylight,” which features “Terrifier” anti-hero Art the Clown as a character. All Regal Crown Club members who buy tickets will receive a code for an in-game cosmetic — in this case, Art’s retro flower sunglasses.

The gory, low-budget “Terrifier” movies became surprise box office sensations with the second and third chapters. “Terrifier 2″ made $16.8 million worldwide from a $250,000 budget and “Terrifier 3″ wowed with over $90 million worldwide from a $2 million budget.
Damien Leone wrote and directed the trilogy, which stars David Howard Thornton as Art the Clown. Lauren LaVera plays Sienna Shaw, the series’ protagonist, who joins in the second chapter.
In an interview with Variety when the third film was released, Leone discussed how he pushed things to the limit in his films.
“I’m always looking for lines to get up to, to push the boundary,” he said. “Maybe just step right over it. But you can absolutely fall into a level of extreme distaste that I’m trying not to do.”
