Raj Singh and Italy’s RP1 Holding Launch €100 Million Film Fund to Boost Country’s Struggling Indie Ecosystem
CEO of Media Capital Technologies Raj Singh and Italy’s RP1 Holding, an Italian group comprising companies specializing in alternative finance, are launching an innovative €100 million ($112 million) fund to finance audiovisual productions and film distribution in Italy.
The One Media Capital Fund, as it is called, was unveiled on Tuesday during the Rome MIA Market‘s new European Investment Hub, which aims to help European industry professionals navigate the wide range of financial tools — in both the soft money and equity financing spheres — that are currently at their disposal.
The One Media Capital Fund will target Italian and international film and TV production companies that shoot in Italy, supporting their operations, the development of new projects and providing guidance to their growth trajectories. It will also finance Italian film distribution companies that need to cash flow their investments.

According to Italy’s TV producers’ association APA, the value of Italian content production in Italy exceeds €2.24 billion ($2.5 billion) annually. But within the country’s fragmented landscape, film and TV production companies require significant liquidity throughout all stages of production, while cash from the country’s tax credits and regional soft money funds are received on a deferred basis that often involve long delays. “This imbalance makes it difficult to access adequate financial instruments and limits companies’ competitiveness and scale,” according to a statement from the new Italian fund.
One Media Capital Fund was created to bridge this gap, by providing indie companies with financing tools tailored to the needs of the production sector and complementary to the country’s traditional bank credit options. “The goal is to build an efficient and specialized system for accessing finance that supports the implementation of individual projects and frees up resources for new investments,” the statement noted.
Italy’s RP1Holding, which is headed by former Wildside CFO Mauro Martani, has supported a slew of Italian and international film and television productions during past years, including “Conclave,” “Emily in Paris,” “House of Gucci” and “The Equalizer 3.”
“One Media Capital Fund was born out of firsthand knowledge of the audiovisual sector: production companies need more than just creative and production expertise; they need financial tools tailored to their actual needs,” Martani said in a statement. “Our partnership with MCT Credit Solutions strengthens the link between the Italian audiovisual industry and international capital.”
Commented Singh: “The Italian audiovisual industry is a market of great interest, with internationally recognized production expertise and significant opportunities for growth. With the One Media Capital Fund, we are providing the sector with a specialized financing model that combines the stability of financial instruments with a deep understanding of industry dynamics. The partnership with RP1 allows us to leverage complementary expertise and build a platform with significant growth prospects in the Italian market.”
