‘Primetime,’ ‘Victorian Psycho’ and ‘Wicker’ Join Beyond Fest’s 2026 Lineup

Beyond Fest is returning to Los Angeles with a full slate of 81 feature films ranging from “Your Mother Your Mother Your Mother” to “Victorian Psycho.” 

The festival will feature appearances from M. Night Shyamalan, Jamie Lee Curtis, Dolph Lundgren, Danny DeVito, Al Pacino and Fede Álvarez. Robert Eggers is set to attend a special chronological screening of his films “The Witch,” “The Lighthouse,” “The Northman” and “Nosferatu.” Eggers will also present an exclusive look at his upcoming film “Werwulf.”

“Beyond Fest has always existed to erase the false borders between art house and grindhouse, the brand new and the gloriously rediscovered,” said Evrim Ersoy, the head of programming at Beyond Fest. “This year’s program is a maximalist celebration of cinema in every form: major artists, new voices, impossible repertory events and the kind of shared theatrical experiences that can only happen in Los Angeles.”

Lance Oppenheim’s “Primetime” will open the festival, followed by the West Coast premiere of Bassam Tariq’s “Your Mother Your Mother Your Mother.” The festival will also host a 70 mm screening of “Hoffa” with an appearance from producer and director DeVito, as well as screenings of Ken Russell’s “The Devils,” Zachary Wigon’s “Victorian Psycho” and Alex Huston Fischer and Eleanor Wilson’s “Wicker.”

Mike Flanagan will debut the first two episodes of his “Carrie” series alongside the cast, while Brad Caleb Kane hosts a special screening of “Crystal Lake,” the prequel series to “Friday the 13th.”

“Beyond Fest is at its most exciting when a World Premiere, a radical new filmmaker, a 70 mm epic and a once-in-a-lifetime tribute can all exist within the same programme,” said Chris LeMaire, the director of programming at American Cinematheque. “This slate reflects the range, curiosity and complete commitment to theatrical Cinema shared by Beyond Fest and the American Cinematheque.”

Also featured on the festival’s slate are Hirokazu Kore-eda’s “Look Back,” Zachary Wigon’s “Victorian Psycho,” James Gray’s “Paper Tiger,” Mike P. Nelson’s “Beware Boiúna” and Andrey Zvyagintsev’s “Minotaur.” Familiar favorites will also be screened at Beyond Fest, including “The Sixth Sense,” “Friday the 13th,” “Split,” “Knock at the Cabin,” “The Visit” and The Driver.”

Beyond Fest will take place Sept. 23 to Oct. 5 with screenings at the Egyptian Theatre, the Mubi Theatre at the Aero, Directors Village and the Mubi Theatre at the Los Feliz 3. The festival is presented by Mubi and programmed and produced in partnership with the American Cinematheque.
