New Uncharted Game Featuring Nathan Drake Reportedly in the Works at Naughty Dog
A new report claims that a brand new Uncharted game featuring Nathan Drake is one of several projects in the works at Naughty Dog.
MP1st has reported that the next Uncharted game, which is not a remake of any kind, is in active development at Naughty Dog. The game will feature Nathan Drake in some capacity, but it's unclear if he's the lead, in a supporting role, or even just a cameo. The project is being helmed by Shaun Escayag, who previously led Uncharted: The Lost Legacy, a standalone expansion for Uncharted 4. This has been heavily speculated for years now, with Escayag having recently teased the project himself on his socials.
The director was in Trindad earlier this year for "research" and posted a picture of a very old-looking cannon. MP1st noted that the new Uncharted game is set to be Naughty Dog's next game following the release of Intergalactic, which is speculated to launch next year. The studio recently confirmed that it will give a proper look at its upcoming sci-fi game in 2027, as well.
Additionally, Naughty Dog confirmed it has multiple Last of Us projects in the works beyond the existing HBO TV series. Series creator Neil Druckmann has avoided revealing what mediums these projects will utilize, so they could be shows, films, books, or games. However, it feels like a safe bet that at least one of them is probably a video game, and fans are hoping it's The Last of Us Part 3.
The next Uncharted game is expected to be at least a couple of years away. Uncharted 4 was released a decade ago and put a nice bow on Nathan Drake's adventures. However, given that he remained alive and well, the door has always been left open for another escapade. Now, Drake could be joined by his daughter, Cassie, who takes a clear interest in Nathan's same hobbies.
