Fallout Day Continues: The World of Fallout Museum Exhibit Expands, Choose the Flavor of Nuka Twist, and More
As part of the ongoing Fallout Day celebrations, Bethesda has revealed new Fallout partnerships in the real world.
The highlight for me is the expansion of the World of Fallout exhibit at the National Atomic Testing Museum in Las Vegas. This includes a collection of props, costumes, and memorabilia from the games and the Amazon TV show. The update will introduce two new galleries, doubling its footprint and featuring interactive installations, museum artifacts, and interpretive displays. Check out pictures of the exhibit in the slideshow below:
Across the globe, the Fallout Cafe returns to Tower Records in Tokyo for a second year, offering Fallout-themed food and exclusive merchandise. We’ve got images of what to expect if you can make your way to Japan for a visit. Images including of the menu are below:
Back on home soil, the third annual Fallout Night with the Texas Stars is set for October 24. Fans who attend can receive a collectible Fallout bobblehead.
And finally — and perhaps most importantly! — Bethesda and Jones Soda’s next collaboration is Project T.W.I.S.T. (Taste-worthiness Initiative for Shelter Transition), which invites fans to help choose the flavor of Nuka Twist. This is important because the flavor of Nuka Twist has not yet been established in game content. Voting takes place on the Jones Soda website October 21-31.
Nuka-Twist was added to Fallout 76 as a Nuka-Cola variant consumable as part of the Nuka-World on Tour update. Drinking it gets you a 10 minute, +2 buff of one of your 7 S.P.E.C.I.A.L. stats, so it’s pretty handy. Watch out for those +5 rads, though.
Already this week, Bethesda has shown off three eye-catching mods for Fallout 4, one of which launched yesterday, October 20. Fallout Day itself is this Friday, October 23 (October 23, 2077 is of course the day in the Fallout timeline the bombs fell, sparking The Great War that caused the irradiated wasteland fans of the franchise have been playing in over the last few decades).
Fallout’s 30th anniversary arrives next year, so expect some big announcements from Bethesda then. What’s it working on? It’s got everything from Fallout 3 and New Vegas remasters to Fallout 5, with an Obsidian-developed Fallout spinoff in there somewhere. Work continues on Fallout 76 and Fallout Shelter, and Season 3 of the Fallout TV series is also incoming. In short, Microsoft is doubling down on Fallout, with new Xbox boss Asha Sharma striving for increased profitability.
