Chris Pratt Confirms Star-Lord Will Return to the MCU, Says ‘Hard Action’ Has Been Taken to Make It Happen
Good news, “Guardians of the Galaxy” fans. Chris Pratt, who has played superhero Star-Lord across six films, recently confirmed that his character will return to the MCU and that the studio has already taken “hard action” to make it happen.
“I have a great relationship with Kevin [Feige] and Lou [D’Esposito], and there have been both ongoing conversations about how we make good on that promise and also hard action taken to make sure that we make good on that promise,” said Pratt on The Playlist’s “Bingeworthy” podcast while discussing Star-Lord’s comeback.
He continued: “So yeah, you’ll see Star-Lord again, which is very exciting, but I’m not at liberty to say when that’s going to be, but he’s not going anywhere.”

The news comes months after Pratt admitted he pitched Marvel an idea for bringing Star-Lord back into the MCU. “I’m happy to do anything they want me to do and will,” Pratt said about Marvel when on the “Happy Sad Confused” podcast. “And also, I personally have a really strong vision of what I would want him to do. And I think it’s fucking great.”
When asked if he pitched this idea already to Marvel Studios boss Kevin Feige, Pratt responded: “Yep. And I think that, you know, I’m down to contribute any way I can to them setting up the next 10 years of storytelling, you know? And also, I have a pretty strong idea of how I think I could contribute to that.”
Pratt’s Star-Lord has appeared in “Guardians of the Galaxy,” “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2,” “Avengers: Infinity War,” “Avengers: Endgame,” “Thor: Love and Thunder” and “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3,” the latter of which promised via credits scene text that Star-Lord would return.
The next installment in the MCU, “Avengers: Doomsday,” hits theaters on Dec. 18.
